Background: Prematurely born to a drug addict mother, then abandoned on the steps of the police station, he wound up in an orphanage in northern Nevada, then later was passed around by a handful foster families but never adopted. Small for his age, he was often bullied, and eventually grew accustomed to getting picked on wherever he went. After barely graduating high school, he was then left on his own without guidance or assistance. He wandered his way down south, working wherever he could to simply earn money day to day. Taking an interest in cars, he tried to learn what he could at gas stations and small garages until he wound up in North Springs. Surviving on his own, he shifted from one friend group to the next, usually pushed around until he moved on. Just trying to fit in, bad choices were inevitable, leaving him with a taste for bars and one-night stands. Stumbling onto desert racing, even though he didn't try driving himself, he latched on to some of the racers, particularly Zan Wicklow, becoming his "sidekick."
